Subject: Anderson's "Contact Point" is a rewrite

"Contact Point" is a rewrite of Theodore Cogswell's play "Red Dust" which previously appeared as a 1952 episode of Tales of Tomorrow starring Lex Barker. It's available elsewhere in a Cogswell anthology.
A drastically different variation of the original Cogswell story. Might as well be called "Green Dust". I wonder if the Cogswell estate would have cared if it appeared on Archive, as it was his story after all.
"Red Dust" was further adapted as a novel in 1981 by David Houston as part of a short-lived Tales of Tomorrow paperback collection. Would love to read it and see how it compares to Anderson's version.
